Stronger door locks. A door is only as strong as the locking mechanism that holds it in place. We opted for a more secure strike box plate that features four screws instead of two. A box strike gives the lock a far stronger hold on the door and the 2 inch screws anchor it to the door frame. The strongest lock in the world is useless if a thief can simply pry it off or cut through the strike plate on the door frame.

A secure deadbolt will include a security strike plate. Install a heavy duty door strike plate lock to strengthen the doorjamb. However if the lock on the door is sub par your door can easily be broken down and the lock will be bypassed. We didn t use the strike plate lock that came with the deadbolt.
