Testing Door Lock Solenoid

Door lock systems operate the actuator by toggling positive negative voltage to the actuator.
Testing door lock solenoid. If your solenoid is being used as part of a car it can still be tested with a multi meter but the continuity test can be done without it. Unplug the door lock actuator electrical connector. So to test it mount the perf board on the door frame and magnet on the door so that it can detect the door movement. The final solenoid test.
Just a short video to show how you can test a door lock actuator using a car battery or a car jumper. Ensure that all electrical power is shut off and disconnected before proceeding. You should see the voltage polarity toggle with each switch activation. Injury or death can result from electrocution if proper safety precautions are not observed.
Circuit breaker box should be locked by personnel following this procedure. Here we have soldered all the components on the perf board so that it can be mounted on the door easily. Once you are ready with the code and hardware you can start testing the solenoid door lock project. Then use your test light or digital meter to check for power and ground at the connector when you operate the lock unlock switch.
